| The SS Thistlegorm was sunk in 1941 by a long range bomber in the area of Sha'ab Mohmoud and Sha'ab Ali in the Gulf of Suez, also a notorious area for boat wrecks due to shallow reefs of which, the Bedouin have named it ‘The Reef of Brass’. SS Thistlegorm was torn in two and sank instantly. |
 |
| It was carrying supplies destined for the British Army based in Alexandria. Lorries, fuel trucks, BSA Motorcycles, jeeps, airplane parts, rifles, radio equipment and ammunitions of all kinds can be seen amazingly after so much time has elapsed. |
| The Thistlegorm is heaven for wreck enthusiasts, but is also fantastic for marine life. Barracuda, groupers, snapper, banner fish, bat fish among others includes giant tuna. For this trip we require an early start. You will do two dives at the wreck before a final dive in Ras Mohammed National Park on your way home. The supplementary charge for this excursion includes your meals, drinks and the extra dive. |
